Review: London Horror Comic #4 (Comics)

A few months ago, around August I believe, I reviewed a small series of comics called London Horror Comic. They were a great read and made me chuckle quite a lot. Well, London Horror Comic issue four has just been released and I have had the chance to read it in my latest comic reading spree.
Is London Horror Comic as good as its predecessors as it breaks away from its old format? Is it still random?
Well, I can safely say it’s still pretty good. I wouldn’t call London Horror Comic your conventional horror stories. I don’t feel a particular feeling of fear or dread when I read them but they do have horror themes. Murder, vampires, the recession…
Despite having these horror elements in the stories, London Horror Comic does come with it’s own little sense of humour, which suits mine perfectly. A good example of this is a parody of Superman in which Super-dude has an encounter with Lex Loofer and coffee.
Although I do like the stories, I think the thing that impressed me most in this particular issue is the art. It’s not often that I get blown away by the art of a comic rather than the stories in them because, let’s face it, I read mostly superhero comics and the art is pretty generic in superhero comics. I would make a quick mention of the passenger. A dark and gritty art style for a rather dark and gritty story.
Issue four continues the randomness that was started in the first few issues. While the stories are great, I have to admit that I wish there had been another story, or two, with no words as these were my favourites in the previous issues. Is this comic worth a look? Oh yes. It is a bit pricier than your average superhero comic but you get so much more.
